Do you prefer Quickbooks, Microsoft or another small business accounting software? Why or why not? I am starting a small business. I need software to invoice and track payments, track income and expense and basically keep everything organized for tax time. I've read positive and negative on all small business accounting software, so now I'm really confused. Oh, my business is a service one, so I will be invoicing for hours not items, if that makes any difference. Can you please give me some advice?
What accounting software do you use for your small business? I currently use Microsoft Access for my small business accounting, which has worked well because of my size and budget. However, Access is not very user-friendly! I've heard good things of Quickbooks, but would like to keep my options open. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Small Business Accounting Software with Payslip? I ran a small business company, in the Gulf region, offering maintenance services to properties with about 50 employees. Can anybody recommend a real good and simple Accounting Software with integrated Payslip , which can take good care of both cash flow, sales, invoicing and bookkeeping?
My dad wants to start a small business. What accounting/bookkeeping software would be appropriate? As my dad's not overly astute in the financial management side of things, I agreed that I would help him out in that respect. I'm a year 11 Accounting student so we've covered most of small business bookkeeping. I'm just wondering which accounting method would be most appropriate (and which software). The business I only likely (at present) to consist wholly of himself (service business). I would probably be listed as an employee in these circumstances though.
Outsourcing Small Business Accounting - Who Do I Talk To? I'm a small business owner getting things off the ground and don't have time to play accountant all day to get the records straight. As a one-man operation at the moment, I'd like to find an accounting firm or accountant to whom I can simply give access to the bank account and have them handle all invoicing/accounts receivable, and then when I make a deposit, just let them know, and they'll see it on the online bank statement. I'd also like them to be able to track past-due payments and add interest appropriately. The point is to NOT have to send them paperwork, but to be able to pick up the phone and say, "hey invoice client X for 2500 bucks, payable 30 days, 4.5% interest for late payments". What kind of accountant do I need to find or talk to? A CPA, an accounting firm, what? And what do these guys typically charge?
microsoft small business accounting? I am thinking of using microsoft small business accounting and would like to know if users are happy with it or if there are any bugs or problems with it. I am in the UK and would need an English version. At present I use Quickbooks Pro. Mike Brunt
What is the best way or method to setup small business accounting so it makes sense? I have a small business that has been operating for a few years, but the accounting has been a nightmare partly because we never took the time to set it up right. We use Quickbooks Premiere to cut invoices, but that's just it, we dont use it to its full potential. My question is, what accounting methods are some of you small business owners (or cpa's) using? I am thinking of setting up a entirely new checking account just for monthly bills. Will this help with the confusion? I'm just tired of circulating money to buy more inventory and pay bills and not having the money go towards profits. If anyone can point me to the right direction or offer some advice, I would REALLY appreciate it. Hobby toy distribution to retailers and direct sales to consumers (online).
What program should I use for accounting in my small business? I know Peachtree/Quickbooks or something but what does it really do? Is accounting only to help out the owner? or is there legal stuff included? Also, what's the difference between what the cash register monitors and what i use the accounting program for?
Should I apply for a small business, and what is the best way to pay taxes? Last summer I started a small business selling merchandise via online. Before all the expenses, I make around $10,000 a month. Maybe about 60% is my net profit. I have not applied for small business account yet. Not sure if I should do or not. Small Business Accounting (General Ledger)? I have recently incorporated my small business and I keep reading to keep accurate details of my transactions. Initially I began a semi-journal. I spoke with two potential accountants, one whom stated that I need to get started with my general ledger and a couple ther things that went over my head, and the other accountant did not make mention of this. He focused more on my 's-selection.' What should I know here. What should I be keeping track of until I hire an accountant, and will the accountant do this or do I? What other housekeeping notes should I be aware of?
What Small Business Accounts should I post assets? I work for a manufacturing company. We built one of our own products for our own use at the company. We use peachtree accounting software. We want to show that the product was built and taken out of stock and the cost involved in building that product but we do not want to Invoice and pay ourselves for it. We also want to show that it is now an asset. How would we go about doing this in Peachtree? Or any other accounting information would be great.

How to Transfer Ownership of a Site to a New Owner in Yahoo! Small Business? I am a partner in a small company with 2 other guys. We've decided to dissolve the partnership and I get to keep the name, logo, website, etc. We built a decent site and have it hosted by Y! small business. The 2 guys own other businesses and the site is hosted under their account and name. How do they physically transfer the ownership of the URL to me? I have my own Y! small business account set up. I searched Answers but only found people needing to change name servers. Let me know if you have any insight. Thanks. Sorry I wasn't being clear. They have this account managed as one of many URLs. If I logon to their account and change the name, contact emails, etc. for this particular URL this won't stop the URL from being associated with this other guy's account, not mine.

Small business accounting/taxing question? I filed my company name as a fictitious name and applied for a sales tax id. I sell things on ebay and use paypal. The question is that the ebay and paypal have my business name, but my fiance's name is also on it. He is not a paid employee, just a volunteer. Is this going to be a problem??? I don't want to go to jail, just to file my taxes. We are trying to get the stuff put into my name without losing the records.
I need a Small Business Checking Account, that requires a low minimum balance? I have my own small business, and would like to open a checking account specifically for the business. However, it seems like most banks require a ton of money be kept in there as a minimum balance. Are there any small business checking accounts that have little or no minimum balance requirements?
