Is accounting and finance a good career to get started in?

i am only in grade 10 but i am really good with numbers and i feel that some sort of accounting career would be suitable for me. but i want a job with a good pay and something that would be available by the time i have to start my career.

1. Great career. Accountants are some of the highest paid employees in the country. Salaries could start at $45,000 and up, more with a college degree.
2. Either of those two fields is a good choice. It depends on your personality type and what type of job you would want to do. Accounting is very black and white with very specific rules and guidelines to follow. While Finance tends to be a little more "grey", there is no right/wrong answer when it comes to forecasting/planning. I am in Finance and am happy with my choice. The control/accounting group at our company is very process and control oriented (it's their job) and go nuts if they don't tie out to the penny. For me and my peers in Finance we are happy if we just round to the nearest million and don't worry too much about the details. This is a very high level simplification of the comparison between the two, but hopefully it gives you an idea.
