accounting finance career or starting a business ?

I'm torn between a safe and lucrative but dull career crunching numbers in finance or starting my own business. The thing is, the finance path is a beaten path to moderate wealth while I have no idea what my chances are of even surviving when starting my own business. But I'm a creative person and I feel that in finance accounting there is just no room for creativity... Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  1. Follow your heart. If you are worried about the risk of starting your own business, or leading a dull life. Both can e very stressful. Weigh the pros and cons, do your research, and then make a decision. I chose starting my own business, however not everyone is meant to start their own business. If you really want to then prepare your self first. It may take months, but if you are serious make an appointment with your local Score office. It is free and sound advise. best wishes!
  2. I worked in accounting/finance for 10 years, and then started my own business. I love being an entrepreneur, but I wouldn't have been able to do it without the experience (and $$) that came from working in the industry. If you start a business with little experience, you will have a high likelihood of failure.
