Online Business Accounting

Is a business/ accounting major with a minor in political science a good path to get accepted into law school?

Or is there a better one? I'm thinking of getting into corporate law!

  1. The path to law school should be different for each person. Major in what you enjoy. If accounting is interesting to you then it is a great idea. The minor in political science is not necessary, but you should do it if you enjoy political science. It is generally said that Law Schools prefer students with a classical education rather than a vocational education. Business/accounting is vocational, but if you want to major in accounting then do so. If you are majoring in business simply because you want to go into corporate law then it is not such a good idea. You will learn everything you need for corporate law in law school. Only major in business if it is truly what you are interested in, not just because it sounds like a good path.
  2. Your major doesn't matter much for law school. So you should major in whatever you enjoy most, so that you will study hard and get excellent grades. The best path to law school is to get a high GPA and high LSAT score. A business major might actually be helpful for corporate law, because in law school, we learn a lot about litigation and almost nothing abour corporate. So if you can learn about businesses and corporations in college, that will be helpful. But, you can still learn these things "on the job" as a corporate lawyer, so you don't have to major in business or accounting as an undergrad unless that's where your passion is.
